🕊️ BIRDIE BLOUSE TESTERS + LIFE UPDATE 🕊️

Okay, okay - I know I haven’t been too active on here lately, but with good reason! I changed jobs last month and I’ve been busy working on my PhD proposal besides that, and that’s still taking up most of my time. 🙃 Knitting has also taken a bit of a backseat because I’ve been gaming more these past few months: last fall I discovered the masterpiece that is Red Dead Redemption 2 and now I’m kind of obsessed?? 🫣 As we speak, I’m still recovering from a nasty flu. My energy levels are still at an all time low, but I’m hoping to resume my regular activities ASAP. Either way - although designing and pattern writing are currently at the bottom of my priority list, I do have a few new designs laying around so hopefully I’ll be able to get those out in a few months! 🤞🏼

I realized I hadn’t shared the photos of my wonderful Birdie Blouse testers on the grid yet. They did a fantastic job, and their blouses turned out amazing! 🤩 I’ve been too busy to actively promote the pattern of the #BirdieBlouse, which was released on January 18th, but I still wanted to share these photos with y’all. I’m still swooning over these different versions of the Birdie Blouse, and I think I need one in every color now! 😍

Back in November, @novitaknits kindly sent me their Essentials magazine and the materials to knit a chunky Alexis beanie. 🌿 It took me a while to cast this project on, but I finished it last month and I love how it turned out! 🥰 Projects like these are perfect for a little mindless knitting - I knit most of this beanie in the hospital while waiting for my father to come out of surgery. Very excited to finish this scrappy sweater after working on it for three years! 🥰 Knitting a sweater out of 6”-8” yarn scraps takes slow fashion to a whole new level. 😅 This is definitely one of my new favorite garments, though! 🌈 I’m thinking about publishing the pattern for this sweater on my blog for free as soon as I can find the time to write and grade it. Let me know if that’s something you’d be interested in!

P.S.: Yes, the scraps were bigger than 6” or 8”, but I cut them into smaller pieces myself to achieve this look.

Yarn: mostly scraps that were gifted to me by my dear friend @amilishly!

BIRDIE BLOUSE PATTERN RELEASE 🕊️

The pattern for the #BirdieBlouse is now available in my webshop and on Ravelry! 🤍

This elegant blouse adds a romantic touch to your wardrobe. It has a fitted body (negative ease + waist shaping) and dramatic gigot sleeves. The Birdie Blouse features a ruffle along the bottom and the sleeve cuffs, and a bow to close the neckline.

The pattern comes in English and Dutch and includes instructions for sizes XS - 5XL. Finished chest circumferences are 70-150 cm / 27.5-59.5” and the recommended ease is 0-10 cm / 0-4” of negative ease.

You will need approximately 850, (950, 1050, 1120) (1270, 1400, 1500) (1600, 1730) meters / 930, (1040, 1150, 1225) (1390, 1530, 1640) (1750, 1900) yards of fingering weight yarn for this sweater. I used Fingering Suri from @woolandworks in the colorway Roller for my sample. 🌈 I cannot recommend this yarn enough - it’s incredibly soft and Chloe dyes up the most beautiful colorways! 🥰
